LIPUS is basically ultrasound to deliver at low intensity in the form of pulsed waves. The low intensity and pulse output mode minimize thermal effects while maintaining delivery of acoustic energy to the target tissue.

Low-intensity ultrasound is typically irradiated to the target point with a frequency less than 3 MHz and an intensity less than 1W/cm2. And usually clinicians operate it for patients less than 20 minutes.
